Innovation boost for the Biotech Campus Delft
The province of South Holland has allocated a financial contribution of € 3 million via the Opportunities for West program, to several innovation campuses in the region, including the Biotech Campus Delft! These campuses bring together an innovation ecosystem in which companies and knowledge institutions work together. They play an essential role in realizing the ambitions in the Growth Agenda South Holland, stimulating innovation, creating new business and reducing CO2. The money is intended to strengthen the campuses and increase cooperation with SME parties. In addition, the grant promotes cooperation between the innovation campuses.
Interview | Bouke de Jong - Science & Technology officer
Bouke de Jong recently joined the Planet B.io team as Science & Technology officer.
Bouke has vast experience in scaling and manufacturing nutritional products in food and sustainable materials. Moreover, he brings a proven track record of working for both US startups and corporate entities. He will take responsibility on all activities within Planet B.io that require technical and scaleup knowledge.

Grand opening of 2nd multi-tenant building Planet B.io on Biotech Campus Delft
Biotech enthusiasts and key stakeholders gathered at the Biotech Campus Delft on Thursday, September 7th, 2023, to celebrate the grand opening of Planet B.io's newly renovated second multi-tenant building, named ‘ Van Iterson House’.
Planet B.io and StartLife Engage in Mutual Partnership
Planet B.io, the driving force behind the innovation hub at the Biotech Campus Delft and StartLife, a leading agrifoodtech startup accelerator based in Wageningen, have embarked on an exciting mutual partnership. A natural partnership as the domains of food technology and biotechnology increasingly cross paths. Planet B.io will become a so-called Program Partner of StartLife, meaning that biotech-oriented startups in the ecosystem of StartLife will be proactively connected to the network of facilities and expertise of Planet B.io. Vice versa, the agrifoodtech oriented startups in the ecosystem of Planet B.io will be connected to the hub in Wageningen including a wide range of programming and mentors.
Planet B.io partners with Quality Control Laboratory ‘SLD’
At Planet B.io, we firmly believe that progress is best achieved through collaboration and fruitful partnerships. That is why we actively seek out opportunities to partner with esteemed service providers who are trusted by our cherished community members. In that spirit, we are happy to announce our collaboration with Service Laboratory Delft ‘SLD’– the Quality Control Laboratory for Food, Feed & Pharma, based on the Biotech Campus Delft.
Planet B.io to partner with a.s.r. to continue growth innovation ecosystem on Biotech Campus Delft
In 2020, the non-profit organization Planet B.io was established to develop the Biotech Campus Delft (BCD) into an open innovation campus for industrial biotechnology. Planet B.io, founded and financially supported by five partners (DSM, Delft University of Technology, the Municipality of Delft, the Province of South Holland, and InnovationQuarter), has been successful in growing the number of companies on the BCD, and creating a supporting network of experts. Today, Planet B.io is happy to welcome a special, sixth partner to its Supervisory Board. ASR Dutch Science Park Fund and Planet B.io will team up to further develop the Biotech Campus Delft into a world-leading campus focusing on modern biotechnology.

Year in review: Planet B.io highlights of 2022
The beginning of a new year is always a great opportunity to take stock of the one that has just ended. We are proud to have 16 amazing biotech companies settled in our building and of what they have accomplished over the year. We are happy to see our community outside of Delft growing too, with new Planet-B.io members and expanding networks that support our mission; Creating a better world with biotech.
